A tragic accident occurred late on Sunday night (May 18) in Nehru Nagar, Pane Mangalore, where a KSRTC bus collided with a scooter, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old rider.
The deceased has been identified as Alister D’Souza, a resident of Mangaluru. According to reports, Alister was returning to Mangaluru after attending a housewarming ceremony in Vittla, accompanied by friends who were on another bike.
The accident took place when a KSRTC Ambaari bus, traveling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, attempted to overtake a tempo traveler near Nehru Nagar. In the process, the bus hit Alister’s scooter, causing fatal injuries.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
