Send Push
At 50, most people are winding down—but David Beckham seems to be only picking up speed. On May 2, the footballing icon turned the big 5-0, and if his recent campaign with Pepsi is anything to go by—where he effortlessly mounts a motorcycle in a slick leather jacket—his relevance remains utterly undiminished.

Today, Beckham, one of the most photographed men on the planet, is more than a retired athlete. He’s a global brand, a fashion figure, a business tycoon, and half of one of the most recognizable power couples in pop culture. With Victoria Beckham at his side, the Beckham empire has extended far beyond the pitch, into industries ranging from fashion to whiskey, football management to streaming documentaries. The result? A financial portfolio that’s the envy of stars across sports and entertainment.

So, just how rich is David Beckham?

While exact numbers are hard to pin down, as per Mirror UK, David Beckham's current net worth is estimated at around £338 million. However, that figure might significantly undersell the truth because, according to Forbes, Beckham had reportedly amassed £600 million as early as 2017. Given the pace of his ventures since, some speculate he may have passed the £1 billion mark in earnings by now.

No one can refute that David Beckham’s football career laid the foundation for his empire. From Manchester United to Real Madrid, LA Galaxy to AC Milan and PSG, he enjoyed world-class contracts—but ironically, his on-field earnings are a fraction of his total fortune.

David Beckham's most lucrative playing stint was with LA Galaxy. During his five-year period with the team, he earned an estimated $255 million, including salary, endorsements, and a share of team revenue, making him the world's highest-paid player at the time.

In 2013, just months after retiring, Beckham launched DB Ventures, a company that handled most of his image rights and brand deals. It was the hub through which Beckham controlled his commercial empire. As per the Financial Times, in 2022, DB Ventures was sold to Authentic Brands Group for £175 million, much of which reportedly went directly to Beckham himself.

Beckham and Victoria have capitalized on their personal brand and have been associated with many big brands, which ought to have brought them big money. As per reports, Beckham has been associated with brands like Adidas, Tudor Watches, Maserati, EA Sports, and Diageo. He also has his own fashion brand, House 99, and is a brand ambassador for AliExpress and SharkNinja. Additionally, he is connected with brands like PepsiCo, Giorgio Armani, Gillette, and the Spice Girls.

Perhaps David Beckham’s most forward-thinking move came in the form of Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer club he helped launch in 2018. Reportedly investing just £19.7 million to get the team off the ground, Beckham secured a crucial 10% stake in the franchise. Fast forward to today, and Inter Miami’s valuation has skyrocketed to around $1.2 billion (£900 million)—making Beckham’s share worth an estimated £90 million. In 2023, Beckham became the subject of a hit Netflix docuseries titled Beckham. It provided an intimate look at his life—and netted him a reported £28 million.

With every new venture, it becomes more clearer than ever that David Beckham isn’t just living off his legacy. He’s actively building a bigger one.
