In a refreshingly honest revelation, actor Gautami Kapoor opened up about the remarkable fitness transformation her family underwent, beginning with her daughter Siya. During a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, Gautami revealed that Siya lost nearly 38 kilos, a feat that not only inspired the entire family but also became the catalyst for husband Ram Kapoor’s dramatic weight loss journey.
“We’ve been in the midst of some crazy controversies this year,” she began. “But let me tell you—it’s been really, really hard. It’s been a journey not just for Ram, but for all of us as a family. We stopped socializing, stopped going out, stopped ordering food from outside—something we used to love.”
Gautami shared that Ram took extreme steps to reclaim his health. “He did 24-hour fasts, 48-hour fasts… he’s done some crazy stuff,” she said. “But what really pushed him was Siya. She started her weight loss journey before Ram, and I think that motivated him deeply.”
Adding to the family’s collective wellness streak, she shared that her son also dropped ten kilos. “My daughter warned me not to say anything,” Gautami said with a smile. “But they were almost starving themselves—Siya, Ram... they were determined.”
Gautami also offered a glimpse at her role as a mother when she recalled the emotional dilemma of what to gift her daughter for her 16th birthday. Recounting her thought process, Kapoor revealed, "When my daughter turned 16 I had to gift her something. What do I give? What do I gift her? I was thinking and I was. I was thinking that should I give her a s*x toy? Should I gift her a vibrator? Should I gift her something?" This internal monologue captures the universal parental dilemma of finding the perfect milestone present. However, Kapoor's subsequent thoughts took a decidedly unconventional turn. On the work front, Gautami is best known for TV shows Ghar Ek Mandir, Parvarrish and more.
