Virat Kohli left the entire nation shocked as he announced his retirement yesterday (May 12). Fellow celebs and fans paid their tribute to the cricketer, reacted to the news, and praised him for his contribution to the Indian cricket team. TV celebs Aly Goni, Nakuul Mehta, Parth Samthaan, who are avid cricket watchers, reacted to the news as well.





Virat took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “It’s been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It’s tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life. There’s something deeply personal about playing in whites. The quiet grind, the long days, the small moments that no one sees but that stay with you forever.”


He further wrote, “As I step away from this format, it’s not easy — but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m walking away with a heart full of gratitude — for the game, for the people I shared the field with, and for every single person who made me feel seen along the way. Reacting to it, Parth Samthaan wrote, “Superstar for the entire country.” Nakuul Mehta wrote, “There are some farewells that don’t feel like an ending but a punch to the gut. Virat Kohli.” Aly Goni, on the other hand, dropped some broken heart emojis in the comment section. Actor Abhishek Kapur wrote, “I really wish you would have taken this decision after the next ODI World Cup cause we all know the love you have for red-ball cricket… but nevertheless, kudos to this unbelievable journey you’ve had in Test cricket and served the country so beautifully… best wishes… hope to see you in the blues super soon.”
