Jamshedpur: City police have arrested three persons for firing to terrorise a trader for extortion in April this year. SSP Kaushal Kishore on Friday said the arrested are accused of firing at the shop of a scrap trader at Ulidih to frighten the businessman after he refused to pay extortion to them. The arrested are Rupesh Dubey alias Rahul (26), Shantanu Kumar (24) and Nandlal Singh alias Buty (20), all residents of Mango.
Police seized four firearms and three live bullets from the accused. The SSP said a larger gang is involved in the racket and more arrests are likely in the coming days as the probe into the matter is going on. All three accused have been sent to jail. tnn
