Jaipur: Nearly three weeks after a woman in Rajsamand died during a sterilisation procedure, the govt has not disclosed the cause of her death. The health department said Tuesday they are waiting for the report as viscera sampling has been completed.
Dali Bai (33), a mother of four, from Selma Bali village in Rajsamand district underwent a surgery on April 17, just four days after giving birth to her fourth child, a baby girl. She died on April 21 following complications from a sterilisation procedure which sparked protests in her village.
"The cause of death is yet to be ascertained as her viscera report was sent to the forensic laboratory. The investigation report by the health department is inconclusive over the cause of her death. It will only be ascertained after we receive the viscera report," said a senior health department official in Rajsamand. Her post-mortem was conducted on April 22 at JLN Medical College of Ajmer. According to her family, she never regained consciousness after the procedure and her condition rapidly deteriorated.
