Koraput: Professor Narasingha Charan Panda assumed charge as the acting vice-chancellor of Central University of Odisha (CUO), Sunabeda, on Thursday following the resignation of vice-chancellor Chakradhar Tripathi. Tripathi, who had taken over as CUO vice-chancellor on Sept 26, 2022, stepped down from the position on April 30, 2025. His resignation was formally accepted by the President of India.
According to an official release issued by the university, Panda's appointment follows a communication from the ministry of education dated April 30, 2025. The university registrar issued the formal order on May 1, 2025. Panda, who currently serves as the senior-most professor and dean of all schools at CUO, will continue in the role of acting vice-chancellor until a new appointment is made or until further notice.
