Rourkela: Four persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly attempting to murder their 19-year-old friend during a shooting incident earlier this week. The suspects, Md. Jasim (24), Imam Raza (23), Shahnawaz Khan (23), and Krishna Gosai (22), were arrested by Rajgangpur police following an investigation into the shooting on Md. Samser on Tuesday.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:35 pm at an isolated place in Bantupada, where the group was reportedly practising shooting with a pistol. During the session, Samser sustained a gunshot wound on his left arm.
The suspects initially took Samser to Rajgangpur CHC but fled after admitting him. Hospital authorities alerted police. The victim was later transferred to a private hospital, where he underwent surgery on Wednesday. A formal investigation was launched after the victim's brother, Md. Gulab, filed an FIR on Tuesday night, alleging attempt to murder. Police have recovered a pistol from the accused.
