The UK is set to sizzle in temperatures hotter than Bali as a 500 mile-wide plume of hot air from the continent sweeps across the nation.
Temperatures are predicted to rocket towards 35C, and even potentially beat the hottest day of the year last month when Faversham, Kent, recorded a sweltering 35.8C.
Weather experts anticipate a full week of sunshine as Brits brace for the fourth heatwave of the summer.
According to the Met Office, the mercury will hit 31C on Monday (August 11), before soaring into the mid-30s by Tuesday (August 12).
Wednesday is expected to maintain the heat at 31C, with temperatures around 28C forecasted for the latter part of the week. Even the North is due to experience a scorching 30C, reports the Daily Star.
Heat blowing in from France will make Britain hotter than the 29C predicted for holiday hotspot Bali in Indonesia.
Brian Gaze, forecaster for The Weather Outlook, said: "It's good news for holidaymakers in the UK, with mainly sunny conditions and temperatures soaring above 30C, as warmth reaches the North as well."
He added: "Temperatures could pip the 35.8C hottest day of the year by Tuesday. It will be a close-run thing."
Nick Finnis, forecaster for Netweather, also warned: "A heatwave is on the way, with the UK tapping into heat in the low 40s in France."
Meanwhile, yellow heat health alerts have been issued from midday on Monday until Wednesday evening covering London, Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands, east of England, the South East and South West.
The UK Health Security Agency has warned of potential impacts on health and social care services, including a possible rise in deaths.
Weather experts have also cautioned that scattered thunderstorms could sweep northwards tonight (Monday) and again on Thursday across western regions.
Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan explained: "[There is] definitely a north-south split in the weather [on Monday]. Quite cloudy across Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England, the rain tending to come and go, but most persistent in western Scotland.
"Otherwise, England and Wales seeing mostly sunny skies, although there will be more in the way of high level cloud out there compared to on Sunday, so the sunshine [will be] hazy at times."

Meanwhile, betting firms believe this month could become the hottest August on record, offering odds of just 5/2 on it happening.
Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati commented: "A scorching couple of weeks could be on the cards, and with Brits now bracing for a heatwave, we've slashed odds on this going down as a record-breaking hot August."
