has opened up about his stint almost one year since he appeared on the BBC dance competition. The reality TV star, who made it to the semi-final with partner Jowita, had never watched the programme before he signed up.
Speaking exclusively with Express.co.uk, he told us about his close friendship with his professional dance partner and why he went into the BBC show "totally blind" without seeking any advice. The 36-year-old star made his name during seven years as a regular on The Only Way Is Essex before signing up for Strictly.
When quizzed about whether being 'Strictlified' was his biggest challenge, he said, "I'm definitely not your jazz hands type of person, so yeah, it was interesting. I wouldn't say it was my favorite part, I'll be honest with you.
"You just have to get on with it and let Strictly kind of consume you, and when you do that, you'll find out that it's just a fantastic experience."
He was also asked whether he would continue to dance as a hobby, but it was a no-brainer for Pete: "To be honest, I don't think anyone wants to see me dance again.
"I mean it was amazing for what it was, but I don't think I'll be dancing anytime soon. But you never know, if I do dance, it will only ever be with Jowita because she was incredible."
After each round, audiences at home continued to support Pete and vote for him despite trailing at the bottom of the leaderboard. When he arrived at the semi-final of Strictly, Pete said he was "astonished" and "speechless." Comedian and later won the show.
Pete has recently teamed up with Twix as they launch their new platform, 'Two is more than one', which nods to its classic two bar serving. Research shows over a third (36%) of Brits feel their bestie is always there when needed.
Twix has now unveiled the nation's favourite duos, with the likes of Laurel and Hardy (42%), Ant and Dec (31%) and Paul McCartney and John Lennon making the list. Twix has also partnered with Pete's close pal and fellow podcast host Sam Thompson, merging their surnames together and the pair came twelve on the list in the Nation's Top 15 Unlikely Friendship Duos.
Pete said about the campaign, "We couldn't be any more different, and that just works, so we (or more so Sam) jumped at the chance of combining our names. He's gutted he didn't think of it first. Though jokes aside, the best thing about our duo is we always have each other's backs - and you can't ask for more than that."
