Royal fans issue the same complaint with 'disrespectful' move to King Charles

The ex-Prime Minister of Canada, , is rocking a pair of Adidas Gazelles , and critics have questioned his choice of footwear for the occasion. The Daily Express, royal editor, Emily Ferguson who is attending the state opening spotted the "interesting" footwear.

On , Emily Ferguson wrote: "Former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is wearing some interesting footwear for today's opening of Parliament... Retirement runners perhaps..? He'll be seated in the front row close to where the King and Queen will be sitting."

Other royal fans have shared snaps of the Adidas Gazelles paired with Trudeau's navy suit and patterned tie. One wrote: "Looks a little disrespectful...Too little too late Justin. #RebelWithoutACause."

Another X user appeared to be a fan, writing, "Justin Trudeau's shoes, today, at Parliament!!" alongside three heart emojis.

Another fashion critic on X wrote, "What a ******g ****" whereas another added it had looked like the former prime minister had not even combed "his hair".

One X user said: "Get ready because the right is about to lose their ever loving mind because Justin Trudeau is not only at the throne speech but wearing the most interesting footwear you wouldn't expect him to wear and I'm just going to sit back and watch with some popcorn."

King Charles has delivered speech at the state opening of the Canadian parliament. who has launched a trade war against his neighbour and made threats to annex the country as America's 51st state.

The King and Queen arrived at Canada's Senate in Ottawa to cheers of "God Save the King". Prime Minister Mark Carney and his wife Diana Fox Carney are also in attendance at the Senate, as well as former Canadian prime ministers.

Mr Carney was by the royal couple's side for part of their first day in the Canadian capital and he described the role the King will play at the state opening of the Canadian Parliament as an "historic honour" that "matches the weight of our times".

The King who delivered the throne speech to open the new parliament following Canada's election last month, is the first British monarch to do so since Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are in Canada for less than 24 hours, their first visit since the Coronation more than two years ago.
