Drivers are facing rush hour travel chaos this morning after a major motorway was closed following a serious crash. National Highways said three lanes on the eastbound M62 carriageway between junctions J32 (Pontefract/Castleford) and J32A have been shut after a vehicle overturned.
There are two miles of traffic on the impacted stretch of motorway and delays of up to 30 minutes, with West Yorkshire Police urging drivers to "avoid the area where possible". National Highways: Yorkshire said: "Emergency services including West Yorkshire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management. Traffic on approach is being diverted. Please allow extra journey time if travelling in the area."
