In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) is still raging that Ross Barton (Michael Parr) is trying to get close to her husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). When Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) remarks on the sweet bromance between the two, Charity seizes on this opportunity and rails the village doctor into starting a friendship with Mack. She's hoping Liam will be the perfect replacement for Ross as a best friend.
However, in a turn of events, the plan fails when Liam and Mack fall out during a gaming session. Liam later insists to Charity that their friendship is a non-starter. But Charity doesn't back down without a fight, and finds out information about Liam before blackmailing him into giving his friendship with Mack another try.
Viewers know Charity is hiding some huge secrets from Mack, as well as her granddaughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and her partner, Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant).
The trio has no idea that Charity was unfaithful in her marriage and is actually carrying Ross' baby.
Will she ever come clean and explain that the baby is not biologically linked to Jacob?
Sarah tried for a long time to have a child naturally, but during her IVF journey, she discovered she had cervical cancer and had to have an emergency hysterectomy.
Charity could see how heartbroken Sarah was and offered to be her surrogate, which meant the world to the latter.
Before long, Sarah got into a serious relationship with Jacob, and the pair are due to be wed.
Ross's endgame is to get the truth out of Charity, which is why he has been trying to get close to Mackenzie for weeks.
Will Charity be able to keep up the charade for much longer?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
