is currently shooting just outside London with returning to the franchise in a new role as the villainous Doctor Doom.
The 2026 blockbuster and its follow-up, Avengers Secret Wars, are set to conclude the largely lacklustre Multiverse Saga that has been the MCU's overarching narrative since Endgame concluded the Infinity Saga.
The Oscar-winner's time-travelling despot replaces the role
As a result, Doom is expected to conquer the Kangs pretty early on (if not off-screen) before aiming for Loki's throne at the TVA, where the variant of Thor's brother is now the God of Stories, holding the multiverse timelines together.
Now, a reliable scooper has shared an alleged plot leak from his Marvel source on the series' crucial link to Downey Doom.
Main Middle Man shared on X: "Word from a source: TVA and Ouroboros will be crucial to Doctor Doom's story and said that Kang's castle will become Doom's Castle after he destroys the TVA. Doom will enslave Ouroboros. Characters involved with the TVA will die to protect Loki's location."
Marvel fans will remember that Ke Huy Quan (who awarded an Oscar to Downey) plays Ouroboros aka OB in Loki season 2. He's the TVA technician who actually ended up helping He Who Remains (a variant of Kang) build the TVA in the first place. Quan is yet to be announced as an Avengers Doomsday cast member, but Tom Hiddleston has been confirmed as returning.
The insider also shared what Downey Doom's character will be like in the next two Avengers movies and it sounds like fans are in for a shock.
The scooper continued: "I've also been told that Doomsday will be more raw and visceral than the other Avengers in many ways. They're clearly set on shocking the audience, drawing strong inspiration from X-Men Days of Future Past. Doom is a villain like High Evolutionary [the villain from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3], but even more greedier, ruthless and cruel."
They added: "Take it with a grain of salt, dears."
