Antrim bus crash: Horror as school minibus smashes into tree with several people on board

A school minibus collided with a tree in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on Tuesday afternoon as several people are hospitalised following the crash. Emergency services were alerted to the crash at approximately 12.45pm.

Police, fire and ambulance crews - including a critical care team - rushed to the scene on Tirgracy Road. The minibus, believed to belong to a local college, was carrying several people. Some were treated at the scene for a range of injuries with some taken to hospital.

None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening, the Belfast Telegraph understands.

Horror photos from the scene show the front of the minibus completely wrecked.

A police spokesperson said: "Police and other emergency services attended a one vehicle road traffic collision on the Tirgracy Road in Antrim, shortly before 12.30pm, on Tuesday 11th November.

"A number of people have been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The road remains closed."
