Cuttack: A young woman went missing after she allegedly jumped into the Mahanadi River at Jobra Barrage in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday.
As per sources, the woman left her scooter on the bridge before jumping into the river, prompting the authorities to launch a rescue operation.
Teams from the Fire Service are carrying out a search operation in the river to trace and rescue the missing woman.
The woman is believed to be a resident of Jagatpur area in the city, officials said, urging the public for any information that could assist in the rescue.
The search operation was in progress till late into the evening. However, the woman was yet to be traced. Further details are awaited.
