Amid relentless rainfall across Madhya Pradesh, several villages have been severely affected by flooding. On Wednesday, July 30, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed the situation and assured the public that the government is fully prepared to aid flood victims. He announced that thousands of people have already been rescued from various districts and commended the swift and dedicated response by rescue teams.
In a major operation in Shivpuri district, more than 300 people stranded in flood-affected areas were successfully rescued by the Indian Army, NDRF, SDERF, the District Police Force, and the local administration. The Chief Minister praised their courage, alertness, and commitment, calling the operation a shining example of duty and humanitarian service. He emphasized that the safety and well-being of citizens remain the government's top priority and ensured there would be no delays or shortages in ongoing relief efforts.
Earlier in the day, CM Yadav also inspected rescue centers across the state through the Home Guard's flood disaster management hub in Bhopal. He shared that approximately 2,900 people had been rescued from flood-hit districts including Morena, Damoh, Raisen, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sagar, and Vidisha.
In preparation for worsening conditions, the state has requested helicopters from the Ministry of Defence to aid rescue efforts in two severely affected districts. The Chief Minister also announced that individuals contributing to rescue and relief missions will be formally honored on August 15. Assuring that all necessary arrangements, from food to clothing, will be provided to displaced residents, CM Yadav urged citizens to avoid fast-moving rivers, unsafe bridges, and exposed electrical wires for their safety.
