Tragic new details emerge about Dog the Bounty Hunter's step-grandson's death

Dog the Bounty Hunter's 13-year-old step-grandson was discovered with a gunshot wound to the neck, it has emerged.

The bullet pierced Anthony Zecca's neck, above his sternum, but no exit wound was located on the teen, according to a police report seen today. When officers arrived at the apartment in Naples, Florida, following the tragic accident, Anthony had already lost "large amounts of blood."

The teenager had accidentally been shot, his heartbroken family said in a statement. Dog the Bounty Hunter and his partner Francie called the tragedy a "incomprehensible tragic accident" in the emotional statement yesterday.

Now police have confirmed irst responders gave the teen CPR but were unable to save Anthony. The gun that was used in the shooting was located in the apartment on the kitchen island, the Collier County Sheriff's Office added in the report. A source close to the case told The Sun "this an active criminal investigation."

Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, and his family released a devastating statement, calling the incident an "incomprehensible accident."

"We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony," the family said in an initial statement to TMZ.

Dog, 72, and his wife, Francie, married in 2021 following the deaths of each other's partners. The couple said they bonded over their shared grief during their relationship.

Francie's son Gregory - Anthony's dad - is also part of Dog's bounty hunting crew, working alongside Dog and his daughter, Lyssa, reports the Mirror US.

In a surprising turn of events in 2023, Dog stunned his followers by announcing he had a secret son. The revelation came on the fourth anniversary of his late wife Beth's passing. Dog introduced his adult son to the world through a social media post, sharing a snapshot of the well-built man dressed in a blue polo shirt and smart jeans, complete with sunglasses reminiscent of those his father famously wears.

His wife, sporting a polka dot off-the-shoulder blouse, blue cropped jeans, and black heels, posed alongside him in the snap. She completed her look with a red belt and chic oversized pale pink sunglasses.

Dog revealed to followers that the complete tale of his hidden child would feature in his upcoming memoir Nine Lives and Counting. Whilst he kept the publication date under wraps, he assured fans it was "coming soon".
