Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has been flooded with support from her loyal fans after she announced the tragic news that her grandfather had passed away, just weeks after the death of her grandmother.
Sharing an emotional post on social media, the professional dancer,who became part of the BBC hit show in 2017, paid tribute to her grandad, posting a heartfelt message alongside a nostalgic video clip.
In the heartwarming clip filmed by her partner Joe Sugg, the pair are seen sharing tender moments, embracing, dancing, and laughing together, as they celebrated her recent victory on the show with celebrity partner Chris McCausland.

Her grandpa, who she calls ‘pop’, sweetly called her a ‘champion’ in the video as they held hands and smiled together. The 36-year-old dancer shared the caption: "'Rest in peace pop you were 99 years young thank you for all the stories and I just know you will be up there dancing with Nan already."
Fellow professional dancer Nancy Xu reached out with her message: "D D Sending you all the love", while Michelle Tsiakkas shared: "'I'm so sorry for your loss Di Sending you and your family all my love".
A third sent their support, writing: “Sending all my love to you and your family”, while another added: “Dianne, I'm so sorry For your loss, Sending you And your family Hugs. you And your family Love”.
Another added their condolences, saying: "I'm so sorry for your loss Diane. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers."
The Aussie is mourning her grandpa just weeks after the tragic passing of her cherished nan, whom Dianne revealed had passed away in early March. Dianne paid tribute on social media with the words: "Rest in peace nan," accompanied by a touching video montage celebrating their moments together.
Over the years, she’s taken to the dance floor with celebrities including Dev Griffin, Max George, Tyler West, and Bobby Brazier. After several near-misses in past series, 2024 proved to be a landmark year as she lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy alongside Chris McCausland, the show’s first-ever blind contestant, making history in the process.
Dianne recently opened up on how Strictly had changed her life as she said: “It’s through the show I met my life partner Joe [Sugg]. It put my name on the map and taught me so much about dance.”
She added: “Winning is not everything but it’s very nice when it happens”.
