Mollie King has revealed she's undergone a secret operation after fans expressed concern over her absence from Radio 1. The Saturdays star, 38, has been missing from the programme, which she presents with Matt Edmondson, for a few weeks and now Mollie has explained why.
Taking to Instagram, sharing recent snaps of herself over the summer, the mum of two said she'd had surgery in July, but didn't say what for.
Telling her followers she was looking forward to getting back behind the microphone, Mollie said she would return to Radio 1 in September. It comes as mum-of-five, Danielle Lloyd, revealed she has been hospitalised in a heartbreaking skin cancer update.

Sharing her news with fans, Mollie wrote: "'Hi everyone! Long time, no post! I just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who've sent such lovely messages over the past few weeks while I've been off Radio 1. It really does mean a lot.
"I had to take some time off in July for an operation but everything went well and I'm doing much better now. I'll be back on air in September and can't wait to be back with you!
"It feels like forever since I've been in the R1 studio... I'm even missing getting thrashed in Matt vs Mollie, so that's really saying something! Ha!"
She signed off by saying: "In the meantime, here are a few photos from earlier in the summer" and shared a selection of snaps, including one from the Radio 1 studio and another family snap with fiancé, Stuart Broad, and their two daughters.
Earlier this year, Mollie admitted she is in 'survival mode' after welcoming her second child with Stuart.
Mollie and the former cricketer, 38, who already share a daughter, Annabella, 19 months, welcomed Lilianna in January.
In an interview with the Mirror in June, the singer said: “Life’s a lot less glamorous when you’re a mum of two. I was laughing with Stuart after [last month’s] Baftas. I went from walking the red carpet, to sleeping on my daughter’s carpet. I missed the afterparty and came home. She couldn’t sleep so I was sleeping on the floor in her bedroom while she was in her cot.
“I’d managed to get out of my dress but my hair and make-up was still glammed up. You don’t realise how much your parents did for you until you’re a parent yourself.”
Mollie has hosted Radio 1’s Monday to Thursday early afternoon slot with Matt for the past year.
She said of her return to work earlier this year: “It’s such a tough one because I adore being at home with the girls.
“But I also love being on the radio doing a job I love with Matt, who’s one of my best friends. The hardest thing is missing the girls and coping being away from them."
