It sounds like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that Spice Girls reunion, as one fifth of the band gets ready to release her first album in five years. Mel Creveals she's to drop her ninth solo record and go on tour.
The news won’t be music to the ears of Mel B – who is desperate to get the gang back together. She recently admitted she's badgering the girls to form again so they can get back out on tour. In an exclusive chat, Mel C teases what fans can expect from her new music that's imminent.
“My new album is done and ready to go," she said, revealing she is busier than ever. Sporty Spice explains she is continuing to experiment musically, influenced by her DJ career. She says: “The last few albums, I’ve been leaning more towards electronic pop music. And with this one I really wanted to embrace that more, with dance music and all the DJing I’ve been doing.

"I just wanted to have fun with it and create something I love. The album is done and news will be coming soon. I feel like I’m still learning and growing – I just love to sing, to perform, as well as DJing – and I wanted to combine everything together for this album. I can’t wait to get out there and perform it.”
Mel insists the album will still celebrate the girl power made famous by the band, thanks to collabs with strong female artists. And she also vows not to slow down – partly because she has her sights set on a new fitness goal.
Speaking at the launch of Ben Forster’s new album, Musical’s Greatest Hits, in London, Mel says: “Exercise is so important to me. I want to be active and dance and perform and enjoy myself on stage for as long as possible. My sister wants us to do [fitness competition] Hyrox together but I need time to train properly.
“I’ve honestly been busier than I’ve ever been before this summer. It’s been non-stop and hopefully next year will be even busier. I’d love to do it – but I’d want to be properly prepared physically.”
Ben Forster proved he really is the voice of the West End on Tuesday night as we watched him perform some tracks from his new Musical Greatest Hits album at upmarket Mayfair brasserie Langan's.

Joined by showbiz pals such as Mel C - who looked smitten with her Aussie boyfriend Chris Dingwall - and Kimberley Walsh, Ben belted out shiver-worthy tracks from the likes of Wicked and Phantom. Ben's new album is being released on November 21.
Sydney Christmas and Liberty X’s Kelli Young were also there supporting the former winner of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ITV talent show Superstar.
