Bridgerton has been a fan favourite since it first aired on Christmas Day five years ago. But it looks as though fans of the period drama, that has taken the world by storm, may have to wean themselves off the series in doses as it's set to come to an end in four series time.
According to Executive Producer Shonda RhimesBridgerton will run for eight seasons in total. The show creator who, along with her creative team, turned the novels by Julia Quinn into an award winning drama series.
The show's fourth season is set to be based on the third novel by Julia titled An Offer From A Gentleman and its sole focus is to be on Benedict Bridgerton, who is played by actor Luke Thompson.
While at the Edinburgh TV Festival where Shonda received the coveted Edinburgh fellowship, she revealed major information about the future of the show.

When asked how many series will there be of Bridgerton, she simply responded: "Exactly eight."
She went on to explain: "The Bridgerton series is eight children. Violet Bridgerton and all eight of her children married. So every season is a child."
However, fans need not panic straight away as there has been whispers of spin-off series. There is also the 2023 prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Speaking about the Bridgerton universe, Shonda continued: "I didn't see it as a romance. It was more of a workplace drama.
"The women don't have power in other areas of their lives, the power is in how they marry, so it becomes a workplace."
Shonda added: "And that's where the drama is. More importantly, I could see myself in them. If a black woman in 21st century America can see herself in regency England, it's a good story."
A transmission date for the fourth series of the hit TV show is yet to be confirmed but it has been speculated that it will be next year.
