Research from the University of Otago examined the sleep and pre-bedtime habits of over 100 teenagers. Using technologies such as body cameras and food diaries, the study found that 99 percent of teenagers use screens before bedtime, 63 percent eat before bed, and 22 percent exercise before bed. However, even those who tried to avoid these habits didn't see much difference in their sleep.

Engage in a calming activity at night, such as reading a book, listening to music, or meditating. Don't eat too much before bed, but don't go hungry either.
