Barabanki: A Class 11 student of Barabanki’s Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College collapsed suddenly during class on Friday and was declared dead shortly after being rushed to the district hospital. The student, identified as Nandini, reportedly showed no prior signs of illness.
The incident caused panic within the school premises, leaving both faculty and students in shock. Originally from Nyamatganj in the Tikaitnagar police station area, Nandini was the daughter of Rajitram.
According to staff and classmates, she had appeared completely healthy and had been participating in regular lessons before the unexpected collapse.
The school administration acted promptly, transporting her to the hospital where doctors confirmed her death. The tragic news quickly spread across the campus and the city, sending waves of grief and concern.
This is the second such incident reported in Barabanki within recent weeks. Earlier, a student from St. Anthony’s School collapsed near the school gate and could not be revived despite immediate medical assistance.
Back to back tragedies have triggered concerns among educators and parents about the adequacy of emergency health protocols in schools. Authorities are now questioning whether regular health screenings and emergency preparedness measures are being sufficiently implemented.
