Passengers onboard Air India Express flight IX-2816 from Lucknow to Hyderabad were left angry and stranded on Sunday morning after a technical snag halted takeoff just minutes before departure. With nearly 150 passengers already seated, the pilot reported an issue from the cockpit, leading to immediate offboarding.
The incident adds to a growing list of passenger complaints against Air India and its subsidiary. Many flights from Lucknow, especially on the Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai routes, have seen consistent delays and cancellations over the past month. According to airport records, 30 flights were cancelled in 30 days majorly from Air India and Air India Express.
AAIB Report On Air India Plane Crash Raises More QuestionsAdding to the chaos, Shiv Sena (UBT) state president Anil Singh was served a fungus infested burger on board flight AI-812 from Lucknow to Delhi on July 11. Despite raising the issue with the cabin crew, his complaint was initially ignored. Singh later took to social media to tag the Union Civil Aviation Minister and demand accountability. The airline is yet to publicly respond. With mounting technical issues post Ahmedabad mishap, Air India has grounded several aircraft for checks, leading to operational disruptions.
Flights AI-2460 and AI-2461 between Lucknow and Delhi are set to resume from July 16, providing some relief.
