After the relentless rain in August, heavy rain and storms are expected in September. The average minimum temperature for the month is likely to be normal to above normal in most parts of the country. However, some parts of Northwest India and South Peninsular India are likely to experience below-normal minimum temperatures, according to the IMD forecast.

The Meteorological Department's forecast also clearly states that rainfall will be above normal in September. On Sunday, the IMD reported unusual rainfall in several states. The average temperature of 27.52°C was also recorded as the 15th highest since 1901.

According to the IMD forecast, most parts of the country are likely to experience normal to above-normal rainfall, while some areas of Northeast and East India, many areas of extreme South Peninsular India, and some parts of Northwest India are likely to experience below-normal rainfall.
